Known as the capital of a thousand years, Kyoto is high on the list of anyone interested in exploring Japan’s refined culture and exciting history. 20% of Japan’s national treasures are found in the city as well as the 17 UNESCO World Heritage Site Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto, including Kiyomizu-dera, Nijo Castle, Kyoto’s Imperial Palace, Ginkakuji and more.
Due to the number of tourists, the city has put a lot of effort into accessibility and buses, trains and subways are mostly accessible.
There are a number of hotels that offer accessible rooms in Kyoto. However, most information about accessible rooms at hotels is only on the Japanese version of their website and details are often scarce. In addition to the lack of information, reserving accessible rooms is often difficult as they are only available by contacting the hotel directly and many hotels do not have, or don’t openly disclose their email addresses.
That’s why we at Accessible Japan strive to bring you the latest information on hotels for accessible travel in Kyoto. To help us improve our resources, be sure to leave reviews!
