Accessible Japan was recently invited to attend the press conference for the unavailing of the “Enjoy my Japan” global campaign put out by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
Here is the official press release:
Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) has today inaugurated a global-scale, multilingual campaign entitled “Enjoy my Japan.” The campaign seeks to entice long-haul travelers to visit Japan and explore the country beyond the well-known popular attractions, and immerse themselves more fully in the rich depths of Japanese nature and culture that exist off the beaten tourist path. This extensive, multifaceted promotion involves a broad variety of initiatives, including the launch of a dedicated website (http://www.enjoymyjapan.jp) featuring video clips that show a broad range of activities and scenes not typically associated with Japan, strategically targeted digital advertisements, and television commercials to be aired in multiple markets.
It is exciting to see the JNTO putting such a strong effort into developing a variety of activities for visitors to Japan.
While Accessible Japan was invited to attend as a member of the press, we were able to briefly share our vision of the importance of accessible tourism with the president of JNTO. We sincerely hope that this will lead to an increase in accessible tourism opportunities and that more people will come an Enjoy our Japan.
We encourage you to check out the new website and get in touch with local branches of the JNTO to ask about accessible tourism. It is important to show there is a demand for travel from people with a variety of abilities.
