Fuji Lake Hotel is located next to Lake Kawaguchi (one of the Fuji Five Lakes) in the eastern area of the resort town of Fujikawaguchiko. From the hotel it takes about 1-hour by car to Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station located halfway up Mt. Fuji (Buses leave from Kawaguchiko train station near the hotel every few hours throughout most of the year), which is the closest to the peak of Mt. Fuji without using walking trails. The hotel offers modern accommodation with a buffet, a restaurant, a gift shop with local items, various public hot springs (indoor & outdoor) as well as private hot springs, jacuzzis, saunas, massage services (including options for those who wish to stay in their wheelchair while using this service), and rooms with free WiFi access. It is a 14-minute walk to Kawaguchiko Station or a 4-minute drive.
Guestrooms offer both air-conditioner and heater, and some rooms have in-floor heating system. Each room is equipped with a Fridge, Various complimentary toiletries, Yukata (casual style cotton Kimono), Bath towel, Toothbrush, Hair dryer, Electric hot water kettle, and a TV.
The hotel’s dining serves local ingredients in traditional Japanese and Western style cuisine in spacious and relaxed settings. Authentic Halal cuisine is available. Dining are open for breakfast and dinner hours. Shops within the hotel provide various items such as, local souvenirs, snacks and drinks.
An observation deck on the roof provides an excellent view of Mt. Fuji and lake Kawaguchiko, and accessible by stairway (38 steps).
Nearly one third of the rooms, and the majority of public spaces, in Fuji Lake Hotel have been constructed or remodeled with Universal Design concepts to further accommodate those persons with disabilities.
Accessibility
Fuji Lake Hotel has multiple accessible rooms with various views depending on the room (Mt. Fuji view, Lake View, etc.), some of which have private hot spring baths. Universal Design rooms have two twin beds, with wide entry door, and large sliding door openings to an accessible bathroom and other seating areas.
In Universal Design rooms, the toilets have grab bars on each side, a vertical grab bar on one side, and a wheelchair accessible sink. Some of the private baths have space to facilitate transferring (transfer tables are available), multiple shower chairs (x10 within the hotel) with and without armrests. Additional assistive items such as non-slip mats, bathtub stools, bath handrails, and bed guards/handrails are available. Due to limited supplies, it is best to reserve any assistive equipment (especially shower chairs) prior to arrival or at booking.
While not all the public Hot Springs areas may be accessible to guests with disabilities, one of the public Hot Springs areas is equipped with a lift that can lower a person in/out of the springs in a waterproof lift-seat.
Family/unisex toilets are available at multiple locations throughout the hotel, they include spacious rooms, multiple grab bars, and ostomate stations available.
